How we handle the information you share with Americans Abroad Europe.

Effective date: August 6, 2026

About Americans Abroad Europe

Americans Abroad Europe is an educational resource for Americans living in, moving to, or planning their lives across Europe. We provide access to educational content, guides, events, and resources developed independently or in collaboration with selected professional organizations.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected, used, and shared when you visit the website, request a resource, register for communications, or interact with Americans Abroad Europe.

Information We Collect Directly

We collect information you voluntarily submit through forms on this website, including contact and inquiry forms, newsletter sign-ups, guide requests, and event-related forms. Depending on the form, this may include your first name, email address, the subject and content of your message, the guide you requested (country, title, and page), the page you submitted from, any campaign parameters in the link you arrived through (for example utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and utm_content), and which optional permissions you selected and when.

We do not ask for financial account information, and you do not need an account to read anything published on this site.

Information Collected Automatically

When you visit this website, basic technical data may be processed by our hosting infrastructure as part of delivering and securing the site. This can include browser type, device information, IP address, referring page, and general website activity such as pages requested and the time of the request. We do not use this data to build profiles of individual visitors.

Cookies and Website Technologies

This website does not use advertising cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party behavioural tracking. Any storage used by the site is limited to what is necessary for the pages and forms to function correctly and for the site to be served securely.

External platforms you visit through links from this site — including event registration pages — set their own cookies under their own privacy notices, which we do not control.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • deliver the guides, replies, and resources you request;
  • respond to editorial, correction, and general inquiries;
  • administer events we promote, including confirmation and follow-up;
  • send optional updates where you have separately subscribed;
  • maintain a record of the consents you have given and when;
  • operate, secure, and improve the website.

Educational Guides and Partner Resources

Americans Abroad Europe may provide educational guides and resources developed by or in collaboration with independent professional organizations.

When you request a guide through Americans Abroad Europe, we collect the information submitted through the request form. This information may be shared with the organization identified as the provider of that specific guide so the guide can be delivered, the request can be administered, and relevant follow-up concerning the guide or its subject matter can be provided.

The guide provider will be identified on the applicable resource page or request form. Information shared with that organization will also be processed according to its own privacy policy.

Requesting a guide does not automatically subscribe you to unrelated marketing from every organization featured on Americans Abroad Europe.

Events and External Registration Platforms

Americans Abroad Europe may promote or coordinate educational events with independent organizations. Registration for some events may be completed through an external platform operated by the organization hosting the registration process.

When you register through an external platform, the information is initially collected according to the privacy notice displayed on that platform. Relevant registration responses, submitted questions, attendance information, and related event data may be shared with Americans Abroad Europe for event administration, registration tracking, audience reporting, and reasonable event-related follow-up.

Visitors should review the privacy notice presented on the external registration page before submitting their information.

Email Communications

Registering for an event or requesting a guide results in the communications needed to deliver it: a confirmation, administrative messages, reminders, and reasonable event-related or guide-related follow-up. A guide request results in a delivery email containing a private download link that remains valid for 24 hours.

General newsletters and unrelated promotional email are separate and entirely optional. We send them only where you have separately subscribed or another lawful basis applies; requesting a guide or registering for an event does not by itself constitute consent to unrelated marketing. Marketing subscriptions are confirmed through a double opt-in email.

You can unsubscribe from general marketing at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or by writing to hello@americansabroadeurope.com.

Service Providers and Data Sharing

We use Brevo, an email service provider, to deliver requested guides and to manage our mailing list, and a hosted database and storage service to keep records of form submissions and consents. These providers process information on our behalf and only for the purposes described here.

Information is also shared with the organization identified as the provider of a guide you request, where necessary to deliver an event you registered for, or where you specifically ask an organization to contact you by ticking the relevant checkbox. We do not sell your information.

We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the security and integrity of the website.

International Data Transfers

Americans Abroad Europe serves readers in Europe and the United States, and our service providers may process information in countries outside your own, including the United States. Where information is transferred internationally, we rely on the safeguards offered by those providers under applicable data protection law.

Data Retention

Form submissions and guide-request records are retained for up to three years from the date of the request or from your last meaningful interaction, whichever is later. Simply opening an email does not restart the retention period. Records are deleted earlier if you request deletion or withdraw consent, except for limited information we must keep to document consent, honor an unsubscribe request, prevent further contact, or meet a legal obligation.

Data Security

Submissions are stored in private records that are not publicly readable, and guide files are served through time-limited private links rather than public URLs. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, though no method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the information we hold about you, correction of inaccurate information, deletion, restriction of processing, and to object to processing. Where applicable, you may also request data portability, and where processing is based on consent you may withdraw that consent at any time without affecting processing carried out beforehand.

To make a request, write to hello@americansabroadeurope.com and tell us what you would like us to do. You may also unsubscribe directly from any marketing email.

Third-Party Links

This website links to external sites and platforms operated by other organizations. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or privacy practices. Review their privacy notices before providing information to them.

Children's Privacy

This website is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact hello@americansabroadeurope.com and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the website or to legal requirements. The effective date above indicates when the current version took effect, and material changes will be reflected on this page.

Americans Abroad Europe is responsible for information collected directly through this website. The website is operated by Janice Diaz, doing business as Wealth Marketing Agency.

Privacy questions and requests may be sent to hello@americansabroadeurope.com.
